Day: Monday 19th Jan 2009
Time: 4.15pm
Location: Fairhaven Vic
Wind: Moderate to light sea breeze
Swell: 2 to 3 foot with odd 4+ footer

Conditions: Swell pulsed this arvo, wasn’t really expecting it, obviously don’t have my finger on the coastal watch swell forecast… A little raw and with a couple rouge closeouts hooking in and cleaning everyone up. A few fun ones in between, if you picked the right one off. A couple of rips producing so run-outs and mostly left peaks working their way through. The sets were really churning the sand up, definitely a lot more power around than the last couple of days. An offshore wind would have made things very interesting, adding some height to faces and holding sections up that little bit longer.

Quick snaps: in between bigger sets (I couldn’t stand around all day taking photos!)
Vibe: Relaxed, a few guys out, mostly dodging the sets and picking up the odd straight-hander. The current(s) played a bit of havoc, with multiple runouts it was possible to get dragged in any direction depending on where you sat. Not that crowded but I seemed to be doding guys on every wave I dropped into…
